We're growing more than food
Food growing is part of what happens here, but it isn't the whole story.
Spending time outdoors, having something meaningful to do, learning and sharing practical skills, connecting with other people and feeling part of a place can all support our health and emotional wellbeing.
At Bradbury House, there are opportunities to grow, learn, make and contribute - as well as quieter ways to enjoy the garden, notice nature and experience the changing seasons.
Sometimes taking part can simply mean being here.
A garden full of possibilities
Bradbury House already has so much to build on — mature trees, fruit, raised beds, a pond, established planting and wildlife, alongside spaces with potential to grow and change.
It's a garden for all ages — for individuals and families, and for people with different needs, interests and ways of taking part. There will be space to grow and learn, to play and explore, to spend time together and to find quieter moments too.
We're starting by noticing what's already here: learning from the garden, its wildlife and the people who know and use this place, while sharing what we've learnt from our other growing spaces.
And there isn't a finished plan for what this garden should become.
We want everyone who spends time here to help shape it - bringing ideas, trying things, growing things, making things and helping us discover what makes this a place that feels like theirs.
This is a community garden. Let's build it together.
From creating new growing beds and caring for the pond, to developing the Wild Garden of the Senses, improving our composting and creating spaces for shelter and play - there are already lots of projects taking shape at Bradbury House.
