Get Involved
What we are working on now
Help people, Place and Nature grow together
Whether you have half an hour, a whole day or a professional skill to share, there's a place for you here.
I'd like to get involved

There are lots of ways to grow with us

Everyone has something they can bring

You don't need to know anything about gardening to get involved. You can come with or without experience, with curiosity, a skill to share - or simply a little time.

Our growing spaces are places to grow food and flowers, make and learn, connect with nature and with each other, and support our wellbeing. You might sow seeds, notice wildlife, make something, share what you know, help with a practical task - or simply spend some time in the garden.

We're still growing too. Our spaces and the ways people can be involved are developing, and the people who join us will help shape what they become. Some people will come regularly, others occasionally. Some will want to get stuck into a task; others may prefer to take part more quietly or alongside someone else.

There isn't one right way to be involved. Come as you are, and see where it takes you.

What We Are Working On

Help us grow our spaces

This autumn and winter, we'll be creating and transforming some of our growing spaces. There are lots of ways to take part — with opportunities to learn, share skills, try something new and help shape what these places become.

Cabin style shed on allotment

Build Our Garden Cabin

Bradbury House · Huntingdon

Help create a welcoming and accessible base in the garden, from putting the structure together to painting, organising and adding the finishing touches.

It’s a chance to learn and share practical skills while helping shape a space that will be used for activities, learning and spending time together, whatever the weather.

Develop the Wildlife Haven Around the Pond

Bradbury House · Huntingdon

Help us transform the existing pond into an even better home for wildlife.

We'll learn about the creatures and plants already living there, improve habitats, create safer ways for wildlife to get in and out, add planting and develop the surrounding area as a place to pause, watch and discover.

Establish New 'No-Dig' Food Growing Beds

Bradbury House · Huntingdon

Help us transform areas of grass into productive growing spaces without digging the soil. We’ll lay cardboard, add compost and mulch, and sow overwintering crops to protect and feed the soil while beginning to grow food.

It’s a chance to see first-hand how healthy soil can be built and cared for.

Grow next year’s plants

Bradbury House · Huntingdon + CRC · Huntingdon Campus

Much of next year’s growing starts long before spring. Help us sow seeds and care for young plants that will become food, flowers and habitat across our growing spaces.

Along the way, learn about seeds, propagation, seasonal growing and what different plants need to thrive.

Create a Garden for the Senses

Bradbury House · Huntingdon

Help us develop a garden that invites people to notice, explore and spend time in nature.

We’ll start with the mature trees, plants and wildlife already there, learning from the space before gradually adding sensory planting, habitats and things to see, hear, touch and experience.

Build our composting system & mud kitchen

Bradbury House · Huntingdon

Help us create a composting system that turns garden materials into something that feeds the soil — while exploring how the heat it generates could even give us hot water on tap.

Alongside it, we’ll develop a mud kitchen for creative, hands-on play. A chance to discover composting and natural cycles while making, experimenting and getting muddy - whatever your age!
